My "new" chandelier
angie over at the happy homemaker had a lampshade tutorial. she has quite the collection of cool lampshades. well she inspired me to get rid of the old rubbery dusty ones i had and get those self adhesive kind. i went to joann fabric today for supplies and after a couple of hours i was finished! i'm quite happy with the results and even have enough fabric to recover my dining room chairs. i guess that's my next project. here's the "new" and old lampshades.

Some fall decor
today i cleaned and started putting out some of my fall decor. i even made a wreath. very simple and very inexpensive. about $3 total, $1.99 for the wreath and the $1 leaf garland from my last post and a little hot glue and some leftover ribbon. i still have a plastic tub filled with more fall/halloween decor. i have no idea where i'm going to put it all. since cali arrived i always have to stop and think, will she get to this? she is a very nosy little lady and seems to get into everything...but i love her so much!

Dollar Tree Bargains
i haven't been to a dollar tree in such a long time. well here's what i scored today...some faux pumpkins, a leaf garland and a cute photo album/scrapbook. Not bad for a buck each. Also went to Michaels....get this, grapevine wreaths were $1.99 each, i kid you not. Now i don't know if it was just this michaels store but check out your local michaels.

Fall on my mind...
after reading heather bullard's blog, see her on my blog list below, she showed a great fall tutorial. i was inspired and made these two cones. i know some of you call them tussy mussies. mine are much more simple than her's, but they still have that fall feeling. if anyone out there in blogland is interested in them, contact me via my etsy shop.
